PINCUSHIONS

I couldn't stop at Project Cupcake - pincushions are such quick, easy, instant gratification type projects! And there are tons of patterns out there on the internet to try. I still have a whole stack of them (some crocheted, other sewn) that I need to try out, but here are the ones I've completed so far:

Teacups!

I can't remember which of these is actually made to pattern. I want to say the one on the left, because it's the prettier one, but I don't remember. I do think it would be better to use a much darker brown, since it looks more like a cup of milky coffee than freshly brewing tea!

Doughnuts (to go with your tea, of course!)

I love making these - so quick and easy! They look good in use, too, because the heads of the pins look like sprinkles.

One word of warning, though... when you make them out of regular worsted weight yarn, they end up just barely bigger than a pin. So if you hold it in your hand and jam a pin into it, you will poke yourself. There are two obvious solutions to this - use heavier yarn and a bigger hook, or don't hold it in your hand when you jam pins into it.

Tomatoes and Pumpkins

Another quick and easy couple of patterns, the 'traditional' tomato and the seasonal pumpkin.

That's all I have right now, though, like I said, I have tons and tons of other patterns (crocheted and otherwise) to try. Now, I just need a year- long vacation to fit in all the crafting, and I'll be set...
